Welcome to the online shop for the Rothenbuhler Cheese Chalet! Formerly known as Middlefield Cheese, we have been producing high quality, nutritious & delicious Swiss cheese since 1956.

Our founder Hans Rothenbuhler grew up in Switzerland, the son of a Master Cheesemaker. Orphaned at age six, he was lovingly raised by a caretaker known as Sister Anna who taught him the importance of faith while he trained to carry on the family's cheese making tradition. Hans became certified as a Master Cheesemaker in his home country, but he realized his true potential by bringing his faith in God, respect for people, and passion for excellence to America. 

Our founder would be proud to know that today a third generation of Rothenbuhlers are deeply committed to the family tradition of making only the very best cheese, guided by a pledge to perfection and a vision to bring nutritional goodness to your family. 

All of our cheese varieties are an excellent source of calcium and protein and are free of lactose and gluten. They are all low in sodium and contain zero trans fat. All are Halal certified, made from pasteurized Grade A milk and Kosher ingredients. Our family takes pride in our ethically produced milk supply, which includes rBST-free milk. 

Located in the heart of Geauga County in Northeastern Ohio, the Rothenbuhler Cheese Chalet is where you can find all of our delicious cheese varietals in one spot. Our shop offers an enticing assortment of deli meats, cheeses, fresh sandwiches, local gourmet products, and delightful European treats. We offer custom slicing, as well as meat and cheese trays for your next get together!
